Hi, I'm Bison Hubert—your go-to writer of code and content. From my corner of the internet, I share insights on web development, distributed systems, cloud architecture, and engineering leadership (plus the occasional cute picture of my pup Kiki). Currently, I'm focused on building software in energy and healthcare industries.

My tech journey took off at Recurve Inc., where I architected a B2B data platform that transformed how utility companies handle enterprise data analysis across the United States. Before that, I helped launch the eCommerce platform Brava Home from stealth mode to supporting 1000+ oven sales in our first year. My path to tech took some interesting turns—I was an Assistant Editor at GamePro magazine (RIP) and discovered my love for locally sourced ingredients working at a co-op grocery store.

From the suburbs of Los Angeles to San Francisco and Oakland, I've recently settled in the high desert of Reno, Nevada. Today, I'm seeking new opportunities to build impactful software solutions while advocating for inclusive tech spaces. I'm proud of having founded Recurve's first DEIB group and continue to champion diversity in tech as a member of the transgender community 🏳️‍⚧️.

My name is pronounced /bī′sən, -zən/, like the animal. I use he/him/his pronouns and welcome they/them. When I'm not coding, you'll find me working out with Adrian Williams and Tunde Oyeneyin on Peloton, perfecting my comfort food recipes, or exploring swimming spots around Lake Tahoe.
